vintage 1985 gold-plated snake brooch by the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MMA). It is an artisan reproduction inspired by Renaissance jewelry, notably a jeweled necklace seen in the 1557 portrait The Count of Haag by Hans Mielich. Intricately textured gold-plated brass resembling scales, featuring red enamel accents on the back and a genuine jade glass inlay on the head. This is an absolutely beautiful piece!
