The sepia luminous numerals are complemented by a distinctive set of hands inspired by a midcentury gauge which Varvatos found. The Varvatos case is also the only dual finished case from Ernst Benz, a brushed body and a polished bezel, which, along with the domed sapphire glass help create a modern interpretation of a classic look. The case also features an exhibition sapphire back to highlight the famous Valjoux 7750 self-winding day/date chronograph movement with its original EB rotor. New straps with Varvatos signed buckles have been produced to complement the new dial colors. The Olive timepiece is delivered on an Olive Bison Strap. The robust construction of a Great Circle timepiece involves exceptional technical specifications, such as its sturdy case, which is constructed of pure 316L stainless steel. Its characteristic rounded bezel is fitted with a thick, domed sapphire glass to protects its generously sized dial, along with its distinctive oversized hands. An exclusive O-ring stainless steel crown provides the watch with water resistance to 5atm/50m without the necessity of a threaded system. The shape and finish of the timepieces, which were designed to have a vintage feel are what distinguish Varvatos design from other Ernst Benz models. The dial has been treated in a special way to achieve a natural patina, giving the timepiece the appearance that it has a history and soul, much like the timeless feel of Varvatos clothing. Offered exclusively in 47mm, the angled bezel and rectangular pushers are signature features of the Varvatos interpretation of Ernst Benz.
