The University of Nebraska–Lincoln ( Nebraska, NU, or UNL ) is apublic land-grant reasearch university in Lincoln, Nebraska. Chartered in 1869 by theNebraska Legislature as part of the Morril Act of 1862, the school was the University of Nebraska until 1968, when it absorbed the Municipal University of Omoha to form the University of Nebraska system.
