The brooch closes with a rolling C clasp and the clasp, lock, pin and hinge are in working order. The pin is ever so slightly loose in the hinge, but it is secure. The brooch is not hallmarked. Conditional issues are tarnish on the back side of the brooch, light tarnish on the front of the brooch, a loose pin in the hinge (but it is secure), light surface scratching with signs of use and wear.
