To my credit, limiting sun exposure makes me look a decade or so younger than I really am-perks, right.Go figure, after my own medical battles I would adopt a puppy with a battle of his own. Maybe your vibe attracts your tribe, even if it’s a different species, but when I met Mooshu he was in terrible shape. He looked like I felt before my diagnosis. Most of all, he needed me. I guess that was enough, I was sold.Pupdate 11/21/24: Our newest puppy, Mooshu, came to us in rough shape. Within the first 24 hours we had him at the vet for treatment and thought we were in the clear. His infirmity reappeared about a month later, but after more aggressive treatment he recovered. We have him on a prescriptive diet, supplements, and thought we had figured it out and he was in the clear. Unfortunately, over the weekend he suffered a major bleed and ended up in the emergency vet for immediate treatment. We got some more information on his condition, which is good, but his prognosis is more of the same. His current bills are over $5000, and it is highly likely he will continue to require treatment with blood and plasma ad lib. His quality of life is great despite his malady, and he is the happiest little guy, so we will continue to treat him until he lets us know the race is run.I know a lot about quality of life, living with my own autoimmune disease that keeps me working from home, either scheduling parties for my amazing face painting, glitter tattoo, and balloon artists on www.MoonOnTheWater.com or doing a little sewing and crafting to list in my ebay store here. PUPPIES: Our big guy is doing great through a little bitchy about the heat, as he is not a naked Chinese Crested but a powderpuff and mommy is in charge of his haircuts(yes, I keep it short for his comfort). Our little guy is just off the medication and we’re keeping our fingers crossed he stays okay for a long time to come, though we are guarded and as nervous as bats in a belfry. If you’ve seen us on walks, you know he’s a little different, but he is walking (even if its a weird looking walk) and eating and doing all the things dogs are supposed to do right now.
