VTG Santo Domingo Turquoise Jacla Pendant Earrings 5in Spiny Oyster Tabs

Authentic traditional Santo Domingo jacla… made of turquoise and orange spiny oyster. Nicely graduated 5 inches Jacla set has spiny oyster centers. Jacla is a traditional adornment from Pueblo and Navajo peoples, meaning “ear string” in Navajo. Originally designed as a loop-shaped earring, a jacla became a common pendant-like attachment to necklaces, especially heishi bead necklaces. The style was widely traded among various Southwest tribes and could be found on both men’s and women’s jewelry. No hallmark/attribution present on these items. More weights and measures in photos.
