Adorable silvertone brooch, in the shape of an ammonite or nautilus.Also has a large bail in back, so it can be worn as a pendant on a necklace(chain/cord for necklace not included). The shell is made of a real ammonite fossil.the fossil was cut in half, then polished, so you can see the individual chambers inside.the brooch section at back is a stainless steel bar pin with a C-clasp closure. Each brooch is made from an actual, natural fossil, so they vary in size, color, and pattern. may have various flaws like cracks, chips, or little geodes/holes.pics are of two different species, so you can get a better idea of the variation between fossils. fairly large, at about 2.75″ x 2″. the ammonite section is usually about 1.25″ across at widest point.size varies a bit. The brooch comes in 2 directions, so you can chose whether you want one with the tentacles facing right, facing left, or a mirrored set of 2.for the mirrored sets, i will match them up as closely as possible in species, size, and color.
