Seiko Seikomatic Chronometer 6245-9000 1966 Automatic Cap Gold

The Seiko Seikomatic Chronometer 6245-9000 1966 Automatic Cap Gold wristwatch is a vintage timepiece with the classic 62GS design. This is a rare and sought-after “pre Grand Seiko” Seikomatic which is chronometer rated and with a gold cap. Rather than being plated, this is a true layer of gold over the top that required a unique construction method. Many of these cap gold pieces have soft edges from years of use and cannot be polished properly; note the case and lug corners are sharp and well defined on this example. This watch was purchased recently but I have decided to regretfully move it on from my collection. It was serviced by the dealer in Japan and comes with their timegrapher results which show excellent accuracy.
