This listing is for a premium quality solitaire platinum engagement ring featuring a round brilliant cut natural diamond set in a six prong head. This diamond measures approximately 3.9 mm in diameter and 2.4 mm in depth with an actual weight of 0.23 carat. This is a fine quality diamond. It is in the near colorless range, graded at H color and it exhibits strong blue fluorescence, which makes it appear a little whiter in daylight. The fluorescence doesn’t adversely affect the diamond’s beauty; there is no noticeable haziness (but it does glow under a blacklight!) The diamond is very well cut, and the clarity is graded at VVS-2. This is no flaws visible to your naked eye, and visible only to a trained diamond graded with difficulty at 10x magnification. The diamond is 100% genuine, natural, earth mined, untreated, and unenhanced. Natural diamonds have a many centuries long history of appreciating in value, whereas lab grown diamonds have an undeniable history of costing less and less money every year. The mounting is by the quality manufacturer based in Lafayette, Louisiana, Stuller Settings; style number 140309H. Stuller is a big player in the jewelry industry and normally sells to independent fine jewelry stores. This mounting is a really nice, heavy weight Tiffany style solitaire constructed from die struck components. The “H” in the product number stands for heavyweight, because shanks on solitaires are usually skimpier and lighter in weight. This is a classic design, and one of Stuller’s best-selling engagement ring mountings. Die striking packs the molecules of the metal closer together and makes for a superior product versus a typical cast construction. I am not sure of the platinum alloy used, but we will guarantee it to be of .900 fineness or higher. I know Stuller uses both .900 and .950 platinum alloys in their manufactured products; and they use recycled metals for sustainability. Platinum is hypoallergenic and an excellent choice for anyone with sensitive skin. It also is naturally a very white metal and does not require periodic rhodium plating to maintain the color of the metal like white gold does.
