Considering that the movement shows no signs of ever having been serviced a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended.***********This seldom seen vintage 1970’s Yema Rene Rochard Wristmaster has a silver satin dial is in lovely but not perfect condition as it shows age-related wear. The lume, which no longer glows after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully. This reference never came with a bezel. The all stainless steel case shows minor wear and oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped “ALL STEEL – SHOCKPROTECTED – WRISTMASTER – WATERPROOF” with the Yema emblem stamped in the center. The inside of the case back is stamped something followed by “TRADING Co,””FRANCE” and “8701.” Between the lugs at 6 o’clock is the stamping “396694.” The crystal presents nicely. The 17 jewels unadjusted France “TRADING Co” stamped automatic movement with quickset date function is clean, runs strong, albeit a bit fast, and the date wheel rolls over at 12 am as it should. The quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 20.5 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. After winding the non-screwdown crown 39 full revolutions the movement was running about 2 minutes fast by the end of its approximate 43 hour power reserve period. The crown winds buttery smooth. Given that the movement runs a bit fast and considering that it shows no signs of ever having been serviced a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended.This watch measures approximately 35 mm excluding the crown, approximately 37.5 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the mid-case, is approximately 7 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 10 mm. The accented stainless steel band with “100% STAINLESS STEEL and “HONG KONG” stamped clasp is in excellent condition showing little stretch. It will likely comfortably accommodate up to a 7.5 inch wrist. The buckle snaps tightly shut.
