This is a vintage J.G. Tarver "Texas Giant" circus sideshow souvenir ring from the 1920s or 1930s, featuring an oversized design with floral-patterned sides. The Performer: James Grover ("Jim") Tarver was an 8-foot-4-inch, 460-pound sideshow giant who performed with the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. The Souvenir: These oversized white metal alloy rings were sold directly at circus performances as novelty items, scaled to match the actual ring size worn by Tarver himself.
