Vintage 10K Solid Yellow Gold Synthetic Sapphire (tested) Ring measuring approximate finger Size 6 1/4 and weighing approximately 3.29 Grams. This lovely ring has a slightly elevated top with a flared platform with textured finish on each side of the synthetic purple sapphire. The sapphire is indicative of the period when they were making a purple, gray blue, pinkish stone to try to imitate the appearance of natural Alexandrite. The stone is held secure with 4 large prongs. The triple split shank has a textured center shank with bright polished outer shanks. The ring is marked on the inside with a simple "E" and 10K, for Edge Jewelry Co. of Newark, NJ. This company was in business from approximately 1943 to 1950 at 480 Washington Street. There is not a lot of information on this company. A great piece for anyone with a June birthday or those who love vintage jewelry. My father and my husbands father brought back many lovely pieces of jewelry, porcelain, clothing, perfumes, and household items to their new and future brides upon their return from Europe after WWII. Many of the items have gone to family, but there are still many items that need a home. Many of them have been passed on from generation to generation over 100's of years. We hope they find a home with you. I bought many gemstones, carvings, minerals, gold, and other fine items while in the jewelry industry. Many of them I made into jewelry that I sold, but I am now selling all of the pieces that I have, since I no longer have the time to devote to jewelry making. Please look at my other loose carvings and gems for yourself or as a gift for design or collection. I generally ship items within 1 day of receipt of payment (weekdays). Auction item payments are due at the end of the auction. Buy-It-Now payments are due immediately. I accept paypal and payment through ebay and do not ship outside the U.S. Any item or bulk of items purchased with a value of over $100.00 will need to be signed for.
